Joanne Brown-Oda of New York City passed away on October 10. 2023, after a long illness. Joanne was born in North Bergen, New Jersey on July 2, 1952, the daughter of Marie and George Brown, and spent her childhood in Maywood, NJ. She was the loving wife of Junji (Kuma) Oda, and the loving mother of Kenn Brown-Oda. She attended Immaculate Heart Academy, Washington Township, NJ, and graduated from Boston College with a BS in Mathematics in 1975. She spent her career in New York City as a Foreign Exchange Trader at NatWest Bank, and as a Vice President at Swedbank. She is predeceased by her parents Marie and George Brown of Maywood, NJ and York, ME. She is survived by her husband Kuma and son Kenn, siblings. Peter Brown of NYC and London, Nancy Chasse of Gorham, Maine, and Douglas Brown of Upper Darby, PA, nephew, Christopher, and nieces, Amelia, Olivia, Emma and Hilary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lenox Hill Hospital.
