Pilar Sierra of Roosevelt Island, NY, NY passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born on November 18, 1930, in Guayama, P.R., to Miguel and Pilar Galvez. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Sabino. They married in 1946 the same year they moved to NYC and together, they raised four children. Pilar will be remembered for her love of life and family, her active community and parish involvement over the years and her gardening, creativity, and crafts ability. She is survived by her children Raymond, Miriam, Maggie, and Michael; her grandchildren Stacey, Brandon, Stephen, Ryan, and Bethany; and her great grandchildren Illeana and Natalia.
Visitation will be held on Sunday August 9, 2026, at John Krtil Funeral Home, 1297 1st Ave, New York, NY 10021, from 2pm-7pm, followed by a funeral Mass on Monday August 10, 2026,10 AM, at St. John Nepomucene, 411 E. 66th St, New York, NY 10065.
